There’s something wonderful about a magazine that was so self-confident that it didn’t mind messing around with its masthead, putting bad drawings underneath it, and even appearing on the news-stand without a single person on its cover - as long as the design was excellent.
In this picture, Vogue uses excellent lettering, a good drawing and a car that would be boring without the stylish woman (e.g. a stylish woman who would be boring without the car).
So, here’s to Vogue. Why not spend an hour or so charting its progress through 341 covers?
